  Background Information

The 2008 AAPS National Biotechnology Conference will attract nearly 2,000 pharmaceutical scientists from around the world who are devoted to advancing health through innovations in biotherapeutics. The conference will run from Sunday, June 22 — Wednesday, June 25, 2008, featuring developments in nanotechnology, biomaterials packaging, the use of stem cells in drug discovery, and more!

  On-Site Press Room

AAPS welcomes professional journalists and science writers to attend the 2008 AAPS National Biotechnology Conference. The AAPS Press Room is provided for members of the press to research and draft articles, review publications and materials, and conduct interviews. Registration packets, news releases, AAPS background information, notices of meeting briefings and newsworthy events, press kits and information from exhibiting companies are provided.

  Credentials for Press Registration

Registration for the 2008 AAPS National Biotechnology Conference is complimentary for members of the press with proper credentials. Proper credentials are required to receive a press pass for this meeting.

These credentials include at least one of the following:
  • Recognized press card
  • Current National Association of Science Writers (NASW) membership card
  • Canadian Science Writers Association (CSWA) membership card
  • International Science Writers Association (ISWA) membership card
  • Business card clearly showing media affiliation and position (such as editor, writer, producer, reporter, etc.)
  • Letter on official letterhead from an editor of a publication or a producer of a program certifying that you are covering the meeting for their respective publication

Spouses and other guests of journalists cannot register as press and must pay the regular registration fee. Ad sales representatives, publishers and other non-writing media staff must also register through the AAPS Meetings Department and pay the registration fee.
