Ground Transportation

For ground transportation, consider the San Diego Trolley light-rail system. With stations all over town, the red trolleys are a fun way to get around town. The San Diego Trolley connects downtown and the Mission Valley area, and links downtown with Mexico and East County communities.

Another rail choice is the North County Coaster which runs 43 miles along the coast and stops in downtown San Diego, Old Town, Sorrento Valley, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad and Oceanside. At the end of the line, the Coaster connects with the Metrolink rail system for routes to Orange County and Downtown Los Angeles.

City buses, taxis, pedicabs, horse drawn carriages, ferries and water taxis are also available. For more information relating to the trolley, buses and Coaster, contact the Metropolitan Transit Service (MTS) at (619) 233-3004 or visit www.sdcommute.com.

Airport Transportation

Shuttle bus and taxi service is available on the Transportation Plaza across from Terminals 1 and 2 at the San Diego International Airport. For more information, visit http://www.san.org/airport/ground_transportation/public_transportation.asp
