Globalization of pharmaceutical business has already become a reality. The complex process of drug development involves multiple steps starting from discovery, going through animal and clinical studies and ending with marketing and commercialization. Many of these steps have already been going through the process of outsourcing and many more will be soon. How does this affect global scientific community? What impact will outsourcing have on the distribution of workforce? How and in what direction will change the demand for scientific expertise in U.S. and other countries? What are the benefits and pitfalls that we need to be aware of?
