Mission Statement
The mission of the Process Development Focus Group is to provide leadership in the area of Pharmaceutical Process Development by:
- Communicating and exchanging emerging scientific and technical accomplishments, experiences and information.
- Providing a forum for discussion for process development scientists with regulatory agencies on process development issues.
- Proactively presenting position statements for AAPS with regard to process development issues.
Thereby establishing a center of excellence in process development for the PT section of AAPS.

Goals of the Process Development Focus Group:
- Develop programs for the annual AAPS meetings (2005 –2006) on topics of current interest
and emerging importance in process development.
- Promote membership in the AAPS and PT section, and support the educational goals of
AAPS/ PT section through sponsorship of symposia and short courses.
- Actively seek opportunities to collaborate with other focus group and sections in
developing programs.
- Support PT leadership in addressing the needs of the manufacturing segment of the industry
by developing programs for symposia and workshops that are relevant to manufacturing.
- Provide opportunities for the professional development of AAPS members by actively
soliciting membership to the Steering Committee.
