Chapter Information
The AAPS-University of Illinois, Chicago chapter is one of AAPS’ largest, offering numerous opportunities for graduate students to become acquainted with the pharmaceutical and scientific community. Members belong to diverse departments on campus, including anesthesiology, bioinformatics, algorithms and genomics, biochemistry, biopharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry and pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical biotechnology, pharmacy administration, and pharmacology. The chapter has organized a variety of events for the benefit of its members, including industry tours, sponsorship of the Graduate Student Choice Seminars in the College of Pharmacy, and sponsorship and organization of the Pharmaceutical Graduate Student Research Meeting. Community outreach is also important to the chapter; the chapter organized a “Senior Outreach” event in 2003 and helped to judge a science fair at a Chicago High School.
