Chapter History and Goals
The University of British Columbia Student Chapter of the American Association
of Pharmaceutical Scientists was formed in April of 2006. The Chapter consists of
students and postdoctoral fellows from a wide variety of disciplines including
pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, pharmacogenetics, pharmacokinetics, toxicology,
pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, drug discovery, and drug metabolism. The goals
of our chapter are to:
- Familiarize students with AAPS and encourage enrolment and participation in
AAPS activities.
- Increase awareness of the latest advances and discoveries in the
pharmaceutical sciences.
- Increase awareness of career opportunities in the pharmaceutical sciences
and enhance professional development.
- Enrich the academic experience of its members and create a sense of
community through recreation, scientific communication and volunteering.
The chapter welcomes all graduate, undergraduate and postdoctoral fellows at
UBC that have an interest in pharmaceutical research to become members.
Membership enquires can be directed to any one of our chapter executives.
