Chapter Information

The AAPS-University of Texas at Austin Student Chapter was initiated in 2003 with the primary goal of increasing awareness of educational and career opportunities in the pharmaceutical sciences among UT College of Pharmacy students. The chapter has been actively involved in recruiting new members and planning upcoming events, and encouraging the participation of UT students at the AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition.

  • Elections for a new Chair and Treasurer for the UT Student Chapter

Spring 2006
RESEARCH ACHIEVEMENTS DAY:

  • Graduate students and undergraduates present their research in this meet arranged by the College of Pharmacy. The AAPS student chapter introduced itself to the new incoming spring graduate and undergraduate students.
  • "Career Opportunities in the Pharmaceutical Sciences"- and informal and stimulating discussion with UT-Alumna:
    • Alice Loper, R.Ph., Ph.D.
    • Janet Walkow, R.Ph., Ph.D.
    • Celyna Delgado, PharmD, MD

    This was a highly interactive and stimulating discussion between the speakers and the students, where in the speakers shared their experiences when they were graduate students and the current students shared their own experiences with them.

Fall 2006

  • Welcoming new Fall 2006 graduate students in a pizza party in collaboration with the Pharmacy Graduate Student Association (PGSA)
  • Inducting new chapter members.
