Chapter Information

Located in the heart of New York City, the students of St. John’s University represent a large cultural diversity. By recently establishing an AAPS student chapter they aim to bring these diverse intellectual and cultural resources to a common platform to enable the growth and prosperity of the scientific community. The chapter’s primary objective is to encourage the professional development of its members, advance the awareness of professions in the pharmaceutical sciences, strengthen leadership qualities and create networking opportunities among its members.

Objectives of the SJU-AAPS Student Chapter

  • To provide a rich learning environment that is conducive to research with an emphasis on developing an open atmosphere for graduate student scientific and social interaction.
  • To spearhead a collective effort to increase awareness of the pharmaceutical sciences among the undergraduates with the hope of providing them with a graduate studies option which they may not have considered.
  • To bring the community up-to-date on pharmaceutical sciences research and regulatory aspects concerning research.
  • To increase student awareness of AAPS membership benefits and to work in close association with other student chapters to promote student participation in AAPS activities at the local, regional and national levels.
