Chapter Information
The AAPS-University of Buffalo (UB) Student Chapter is comprised of undergraduate
and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at UB State University of New York.
Formed in the summer of 1998, the mission of the chapter is to introduce students
to the benefits of AAPS membership, to examine contemporary issues related to pharmaceutical
research through seminars and symposia, and to increase awareness and prepare students
for the various employment opportunities that exist in the pharmaceutical sciences.
Program Goals, Objectives, and Procedures
The AAPS-University of Buffalo (UB) Student Chapter is comprised of undergraduate
and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at UB State University of New York.

Proposed Activities
Due to years of success of previous AAPS-UB luncheons, the student chapter will
continue to support this activity. For the upcoming (Fall-Spring) semesters, we
have finalized plans for a number of seminar speakers to participate in informal
student lunches and coffee socials. The specific dates and times of these events
will be determined by the 2009-2010 AAPS-UB Chapter. Remaining funds will be used
to conduct Career Development Workshops, additional luncheons and recruitment events.

of Clinical Pharmacology, Food and Drug Administration.
- October 22, 2009 Career Development Workshop in collaboration with UB-PHC-GSA:
the invitee is Dr.Carol Lim, Associate professor, Department of Pharmaceutics and
Pharmaceutical chemistry, College of Pharmacy, University of Utah; Dr. Marilyn Morris,
Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University at Buffalo.

the officer roles and responsibilities for the upcoming year, as well as initial

2006-2007
Due to years of success of previous AAPS-UB luncheons, the student chapter will
continue to support this activity. For the upcoming (Fall-Spring) semesters, we
have finalized plans for a number of seminar speakers to participate in informal
student lunches and ice cream socials. These speakers include prominent members
of the academic, industrial, NIH and FDA arenas. We expect that these luncheons
will cost approximately $175 - $200 each. The specific dates and times of these
events will be determined by the 2006-2007 AAPS-UB Chapter. Remaining funds will
be used to hold recruitment events. These events may include picnics, socials and/or
information sessions on AAPS membership. Few luncheons with the prominent speakers
and upcoming activities are given as follows.
